Kim Mottola here. I decided to follow the footsteps of other Mormon chicks and start up a blog! So I guess I'll start off by talking a little bit about myself, then answering a few basic questions.
I once heard a saying that goes, "He who defines himself, limits himself". I couldn't agree more... if I were to say I was nice, I'd be keeping my ballzy side in a cage. If I said I was a chatterbox (which most of my friends and family would agree with), you guys would think I was abducted by aliens when I'm having those days where I just wanna meditate and keep to myself. As Meredith Brooks put it, "I'm a little bit of everything, all rolled into one."
- Birthday: February 27, 1992 (Currently 21 and a half! ;) )
- Some Background: I was born in São Paulo, Brazil and lived all over the world! Brazil (São Paulo, Curitiba, Vinhedo, Salvador, and Belo Horizonte), Switzerland, Belgium, New Jersey, and Canada (Kelowna and Calgary). Right now I live in Calgary, but returning to Kelowna soon! As mentioned earlier, I've been a Mormon my whole life and always will be cuz it makes me happy! But I'll try and keep my posts outside the cliché bubble of recipes, marriage, and babies. In fact, if you have any questions or suggestions for the upcoming posts, please let me know! I would love to address my thoughts on whatever you're concerned with.
- Hobbies: I love teaching! There's nothing more rewarding than to illuminate someone's mind. Tied to that is public speaking.. I'm definitely one of those people who love to hear their own voice. Microphones are my secret lovers! I also love to sing (not well, but I like pretending I do), playing with kids, watching chick-flick movies, laughing, listening and dancing to music, and I guess everything else depends on my mood!
- Why I started this blog: I love writing. I always have! I also love expressing my opinions on my Facebook statuses and I've noticed sometimes my rants take up over 4 paragraphs. So I thought I might as well start a blog! I'm also an open book... I have no secrets. When something happens in my life, everyone finds out about it in less than a week, so I wouldn't mind talking about my personal life here unless of course other people are involved. Integrity and sensitivity come first (in a tie)! If something isn't appropriate to be shared here on the internet, that's when my diary comes in. So think of yourselves as the audience to my mind!
- Purpose of this blog: I want people to get to know a different side of me... there's Crazy Kim you see at parties singing out loud, making new friends on a daily basis and dancing like she's got ants in her pants. Then there's blogger Kim, who I'm excited to introduce to y'all! I'm crazy and weird, but I'm also a real girl with feelings, obstacles, regrets, hopes, and lots of stories to tell. I've accomplished great things in my life, but I've also really screwed up. I've had happy days, but I've also gone through some really rough patches. And I guess my hope is that maybe people can relate to me as they read the posts and hopefully find a solution to their problems? I want people to read my posts and think, "Oh, whatever it is I'm going through now is rough, but Kim's been there too and she got through it. So there's hope for me!". I want people to read my posts and have a good laugh, a brightened day, their faith restored, a warmed soul, and a heart full of hope.
Well, I think that's all! I think for the next few posts I'll be copy-pasting my Facebook rants from the past. Problem is a couple years ago I made the stupid decision to delete everything off my timeline cuz I was going through an OCD phase and I wanted to keep my timeline clean and empty. So I might have deleted some pretty good controversial rants! :/
